IMPRESSIONS

Impressions of Navya Mriyala “ 20 CSY

Got to know about shodayatra from my friend Geeta Sai Krishna. when I heard about it the very moment I decided to take part in it as I like the idea of learning tradition al knowledge & best agriculture  practice's from villagers.
So when it's CSY20 time, my friend Geeta and me rushed there.

Day 1:
Took a bus from Bangalore which is of 4-5hrs journey to the meeting point. Well... things didn't go as we planned, our bus was late so we got delayed by 2hrs. Directly met the team in Hanimireddy palle after the first session.
Missed the introduction part and great breakfast :(

Yatra continued by visiting venkatam palle, mudinayini palle and ended with kodipalle. Discussed about rock mineralisation  technique, very low margin profit for farmers and heard inspiration innovator stories of Mr. Patan saida (about wind mill invention), Mr.Mallesham( his struggle with life on working what he's interested towards).
Mallesham sir story was quite inspiring, it was ringing loudly in my ears for quite a lot of time.

Went into deep thoughts like despite corporate culture provide all the infrastructure needed, we are unable to ideate. Thought of great Rabindranath Tagore poem "where the mind is without fear". A live example for "where there is a Will there is a way". Through out the day we met villagers, finding about their problems, explaining the existing solutions for major problems and inspiring them with other innovators stories as well as interact with co-yatris while walking and listen Ganesham sir inspirational magic words. On the way to kodipalle, met with herbal healer Narasimhappa garu. Delighted to meet such an  experienced and knowledgeable person with great values towards life and then we set for dinner.

Followed by that all yatris had a small meeting discussing how the day has been.

Day 2:

Visited few more villages and two schools.

Playing with the children made everyone forget the tiredness. They were so enthusiastic and interested to know the innovations of other children in IGNITE. Heard inspirational stories of Mr.Pandurangan & Mr.Chandrasekhar and their struggles marketing the products made by them. As marketing has been the difficult  for any grassroot innovator, had brain storming session on the problem. Interacted more while walking with co-yatris, who shared inpisrational stories of their lives.

Day 3:
Met with RDT members and got to know about how RDT formed and the role of Mr.Ferror & his family in establishment, development and expansion of RDT centres. Met innovator Amarnath and discussed about his technical innovations. As we were running short of time, we couldn't spend enough time with them.

Had a small meeting about last 2days and set to Anantapur by ending the Yatra.

P.S: sorry didn't click pics, lived happily for 3days without mobile.

Thank you so much for Pallesrujana team.

Observations & suggestions:
1. Large Batch size- couldn't interact with everyone in 3days.

2. Would be better if we provide a small document at the time of registration  regarding the place, agriculture habits, main problems of  the area before hand. Will help in communicating and understand well with farmers & their problems.

3.over all experience  is very good and really looking forward to next CSY.

4. As I told,  working on the idea of opening tuck shop at my office for srithailam.
Will get back to you soon regarding this.

Thanks & Regards,
Navya Miryala.
