Sri Durga Prasad Jagarlamudi was a successful businessman for more than four decades running profitable businesses like Exports of Tobacco and Cotton Garments, Steel Rerolling Mill, Scrap Imports, Anaerobic Digesters, etc. The combined revenues of his businesses exceeded Rupees 300 Crores that provided employment for more than 4000 people and promoting over 30 small businesses.

In pursuit of his passion on social change and entrepreneurship especially in rural areas and its people, he forced himself voluntarily to come out from his profitable businesses handing over to his successors. After coming into contact with Retd. Brigadier P. Ganesham in 2007, he has taken a big liking for the activity of Honeybee Network and became a full time volunteer in the network. He was one of the founder members of “Palle Srujana” – a voluntary organization pursuing the knowledge at grassroots in Andhra Pradesh, which was registered in 2009.

He was the founder of “Creative Minds” – a unique model commercial entity for promoting grassroots innovations. Creative Minds is a firm for helping the rural innovators find space in the market. His initiative and his active involvement resulted in Water Hyacinth cutting machine innovated by Godasu Narasimha – a grassroots innovator from Nalgonda district of Andhra Pradesh, being used for cleaning of lakes in the operative areas of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation. He is also instrumental in promoting and marketing many other Grassroots Innovations, in the past three years, of Mallesh Goud, Galla Chandrasekhar, Boya Rajanna, and others.

As part of his continuous passion of promoting social entrepreneurs, he is currently actively mentoring a new social enterprise – GreenTech Corporation based out of Hyderabad, which is focusing on Water Management Solutions, Energy Solutions and Garden Care. GreenTech Corporation comes with a new kind of solutions for Water Recycling, in creating Organic Manure and by generating electricity from Bio-degradable wastes.
With his expertise in enterprises, he was nominated to the panel for TePP, DST, GoI for selecting the cases of potential entrepreneurs at ICRISAT. He still continues to serve in the same position with ABI, ICRISAT. He was also nominated as ‘Mentor and Motivator” for Centre for Innovation and Incubation Enterprise, IIM, Ahmedabad. He is an invitee to International conference on ‘Grassroots Innovation” held at IIM Ahmedabad and an invitee for Exhibition of Innovations conducted at Rashtrapathi Bhavan during 2011, 2012 and 2013.

His commitment, passion and dedication to serve the cause of Grassroots Innovations are unparallel considering his background and professional activity that was pursued.
