CHINNA SHODHA YATRA - 1

Objective

  • Basically designed to physically verify the violations of HT transmission lines over villages
  • Observe the nature and its changes over the route
  • Interact with villagers and learn their traditional knowledge
  • Identify creative people in the village and document their knowledge
  • Felicitate elders above 90 years at their door step.
  • Understand the villagers’ perspective f development.
  • Assess the aspirations of village youth and their parents
  • Identify technology gaps and see the appropriateness of the tools and equipment being used by the villagers.
  • Study the crop pattern and examine their suitability to the environment, people’s needs and its sustenance.
  • Understand the harmony between the villagers and the nature.

Participation

College students – boys and girls are welcome to participate in the Shodha Yatra.

Any other citizen who understands the mission of NIF and honeybee may contact Brigadier, if they desire to participate in the yatra.

Logisitcs

Starting Point:  Bus stop in Girni bavi village. You can reach Girnibavi from warnagal. Any bus going to Narsapur will pass through Girnibavi.

Starting time: All yatris will meet at Girni bavi by 7.30 am on 30  April 2011, Saturday. Yatra starts at 8 am from that point.

What to carry:

  • One set of change of clothes
  • Torch light
  • Steel plate, tumbler and  spoon
  • Pad and pen/pencil
  • Camera, video
  • Bed sheets
  • Mug
  • Water bottle
  • Cap
  • Suitable  foot wear – avoid new shoes
  • First aid kit
  • Medicines, if you

Avoid using mineral water.

Try and live like villagers during these two days.

One bag per participant will be carried separately in a logistic vehicle.

Responsibilities:

Raju, Satish and Karthik

  • Arrange meetings,
  • felicitation of elders of the society,
  • Food, and night stay

Shweta, Gauthami, Vandana, Mounika

  • Marking the HT line on the map and its violations
  • Talk to the villages about the accidents which happened and the reasons for violations

Rajesh,  Sujit and  Krishna

  • Organising logistic vehicle
  • Displaying posters, and other material for distribution
  • Collect the baggage of the participants and hand them over at night stay on first day. Again collect them in the morning and deliver at finishing point on the second day.

Each participant s expected to write their experiences for 2- pages and mail it Brigadier by 04 May 2011.

Satish will arrange for hand mike with good condition battery for 2 days.

Sharma garu will help in borrowing/hiring a LCD projector and screen for the duration. Satish to ensure its collection, operation and safe return.

Individual expenses will be borne by participants.  Raju to keep the expenses during the yatra and submit them to Brig  on Sunday evening. All bills will be settled before we disperse.  No ipods and music will be carried. Avoid using cell phones except for emergency.
